How we increased our revenue by 53% using A/B testing

5-MINUTE MARKETING HACK

A/B testing is a straightforward concept. Imagine this, you have a landing page that visitors reach after clicking on an ad. Now, you want to see what happens if you change the headline.

So, you conduct a test:

Version A: Receives 80% of the traffic

  • 94 signups

Version B: Receives 20% of the traffic

  • 38 signups

The next step is to put this data into an A/B split test significance calculator. We see that Test B converted 62% better than Test A and had a 100% chance of being statistically significant.

Now, we know for certain that the new headline increases conversions by 62%.

THAT'S INSANE! All we did was make one simple change.

But these changes are real, I’ve seen incredible results just from making small adjustments.

You should OBSESS over the journey a stranger takes once they land on your website. What does the process look like for turning them from a stranger into a customer?

Here are two resources we use to optimize this process:

  1. GoHighLevel for funnel building & A/B testing (Link)

  2. Mouseflow lets you literally watch screen recordings of people on your page (Link)

Here are some of the biggest changes we made that had a massive impact on the number of leads we generated:

  1. Headlines are the most important element. They summarize the offer and grab attention immediately. Test headlines and subheadlines frequently.

  2. 95% of people don’t read FAQs, copy, or testimonials… but your buyers do. Optimize these sections for conversions.

  3. Don’t use boring CTA buttons. Instead of “Sign Up Now,” try “Get Abs in 30 Days Today!”

  4. Less friction = more money. If your sign-up form asks for a name, birthday, email, address, mother’s favorite sport, and social security number just to get a free PDF… people will leave. Make everything as simple as possible.

  5. Write at a 3rd-grade reading level. Just because your customers are smart doesn’t mean your website copy should be hard to read. Simplify your content and measure reading level with tools like Hemingway Editor.

  6. Always include a footer. People trust websites with footers that include links, contact details, and physical addresses. A footer signals legitimacy and trust.

Over time, these small A/B tests add up. Imagine if you increased leads or sales by 50% or more…

What would that do for your business?

See you next week!
